St. Luke's HealthNow Focuses on Pediatric Medicine

The next episode of St. Luke’s HealthNow will air on Monday, December 16, 2024, at 6:30 p.m. on WFMZ, Channel 69. This episode features a panel of experts from St. Luke’s University Health Network (SLUHN), sharing the unique needs of children when it comes to surgical procedures and digestive issues.

The panel consists of experts from St. Luke’s Children’s Hospital:

  • Dr. Rajeev Prasad, MD, pediatric surgery

  • Dr. David Blanco, MD, pediatric gastroenterology

“People think children are small adults, but they have unique anatomies and complex organ systems,” said Prasad. “Yes, they are smaller, but they also have more delicate tissue. Also, there are many conditions that occur just in children that you won’t find in adults.”

St. Luke's HealthNow, hosted by Ashley Russo, founder and executive producer of ASR Media Productions, is a co-production of ASR Media and SLUHN.

St. Luke's HealthNow complements other St. Luke's health and wellness programming, including Talk with Your Doctor, a 30-minute live call-in show in its 21st year. St. Luke's HealthNow and Talk with Your Doctor air in rotation every Monday at 6:30 PM on WFMZ-TV Channel 69 (Service Electric channel 508 and RCN channel 1007).
