St. Luke's HealthNow Episode Focuses on Excellence in Stroke Care

The next episode of St. Luke’s HealthNow will air on Monday, December 9, 2024, at 6:30 p.m. on WFMZ, Channel 69. This episode discusses prevention and interventional stroke care offered by St. Luke’s University Health Network (SLUHN). This panel talks about the newest innovations used by doctors at SLUHN, as well as relationships with local emergency medicine transport services that work together to improve stroke care. 

The episode features a panel of stroke doctors at SLUHN: 

• Daniel Ackerman, MD, FAAN, Director of Stroke and Vascular Neurology

• Martin Oselkin, MD, Interventional Neuroradiologist

• Darryl Gaines, MD, Internal Medicine

“When all of a sudden the brain or the body isn’t working the way a patient expects it to, it can really change them,” said Dr. Ackerman. “But, as physicians, once you demystify that and help people understand what’s going on, why it's happening and what to expect, we can make a huge difference.”
