St. Luke’s HealthNow Focuses on Innovations in Heart Care in New Episode

Viewers will get an inside look at cardiology at St. Luke’s University Health Network.

BETHLEHEM, PA – On May 29, 2023, the 41st episode of St. Luke’s HealthNow will air on WFMZ, Channel 69 at 6:30 p.m. The new episode will feature a discussion of cardiovascular disease, cardio-oncology, heart health, electrophysiology, interventional cardiology, and more. Three professionals from St. Luke’s University Health Network (SLUHN) will appear in this episode’s panel, including:

  • Michael McCulloch, MD, Director, Cardio-Oncology Program, SLUHN

  • Chris Sarnoski, DO, Director, Interventional Cardiology and Structural Heart Disease Program, SLUHN

  • Darren Traub, DO, Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiologist, SLUHN

The three experts will explore their specialties at SLUHN and how they use the most up-to-date technologies in their field. A key point of discussion is the importance of early treatment for heart issues and why leaving issues untreated can be particularly problematic. Additionally, panelists will discuss the difference between cardiology and interventional cardiology, heart rhythms, pacemakers, cancer treatments, cardiac imaging technologies, and more.

“With a pacemaker, you’re more confident when you have that level of backup protection,” says Paulette Shuck, a patient of Dr. Traub. “I’ve been doing well since [I got my pacemaker], and I do get exercise. The team at St. Luke’s listens to you and takes care of you. St. Luke’s is our hospital.”
