St. Luke's HealthNow Shines a Light on Radiology and Dermatology

 

The two latest episodes will discuss progressions in ultrasound imaging and highlight melanoma and treatments with St. Luke’s University Health Network specialists.  

Two new episodes of St. Luke’s HealthNow will air in May. On Monday, May 17, Innovations in Radiology explores technology and treatment options in radiology, the role of artificial intelligence, and developments in patient care network-wide. On Monday, May 24, Melanoma and Skin Cancers informs about differences in cancer diagnoses, symptoms to look for, the value of annual checkups, and treatment and recovery options. Both episodes will air at 6:30 PM on WFMZ, Channel 69.

Innovations in Radiology features St. Luke’s specialists, Michelle Naylor, MD, Diagnostic Radiology Specialist, Janet Durick, MD, Radiologist and Section Chief of Chest Imaging, and Laurie Sebastiano, MD, Radiologist and Section Chief of Ultrasonography. Hosted by Ashley Russo, president and executive producer of ASR Media Productions, St. Luke’s HealthNow is a co-production of ASR Media Productions and St. Luke's University Health Network

“Artificial intelligence in radiology is, in essence, a computerized method of taking the skills that we have as physicians and making them even better through the use of computers,” said Dr. Durick. “It helps us make fewer mistakes and find the abnormalities quicker so we can prioritize potentially life-threatening findings.”

Melanoma and Skin Cancers features St. Luke’s specialists, Melissa Wilson, MD, PhD, Medical Oncologist and Director, Melanoma Program, Andrew Krakowski, MD, Chair, Dermatology, and David Andolino, MD, Radiation Oncologist.

St. Luke's HealthNow, Talk with Your Doctor, and The PEAK TV air in rotation every Monday at 6:30 PM on WFMZ-TV Channel 69 (Service Electric channel 508 and RCN channel 1007).
