Shoulder injuries are a common issue that can affect all ages from young, active athletes to senior citizens in their 80s. A large majority of shoulder injuries can be treated without surgery and a strong physical therapy routine can do the trick. The second St. Luke’s HealthNow episode for summer 2020, Ouch! Understanding Common Shoulder Injuries and How To Treat Them explores the seamless integration of the orthopedic care team and physical therapists providing well-rounded treatment plans for patients. The previously recorded 30-minute segment explores the different care options available for injuries and pain. This twenty-first episode of St. Luke's HealthNow, part of St. Luke’s Monday night lineup, airs Monday, July 27 at 6:30 PM on WFMZ Channel 69.
Shoulder Treatments features Greg Carolan, M.D, Chief of Orthopedic Sports Medicine and Shoulder Surgery and associate program director for the St. Luke’s Orthopedic Surgery Residency Program; St. Luke's Warren Campus Medical Director of Sports Medicine and Clinical Assistant Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at the Temple School of Medicine, Nicholas Avallone, M.D.; and Chris Fisher, PT, DPT, Board-Certified Clinical Specialist in Sports Physical Therapy. Hosted by Ashley Russo, president and executive producer of ASR Media Productions, St. Luke’s HealthNow is a co-production of ASR Media Productions and St. Luke's University Health Network.
