St. Luke's HealthNow to Air Part Two of Artificial Intelligence Series

Episode two of the special series examines how St. Luke's University Health Network leaders are working to implement Artificial Intelligence.

The latest installment of St. Luke’s HealthNow will air on Monday, January 16, 2023 at 6:30 PM on WFMZ, Channel 69. This episode follows part one of a series on the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) at St. Luke’s University Health Network (SLUHN). The new segment dives even deeper into AI, including how it affects personal care, the importance of information technology departments, and how AI will expand the skills necessary for future healthcare professionals.

This installment features the same group of experts describing how AI continues to influence SLUHN’s personalized care and revolutionizes the healthcare field.  Panelists discuss how AI allows doctors to spend more one-on-one time with patients, listening to their needs and concerns. Also included is the important question of AI and security, from algorithms to electronic medical records to personalized health suggestions. Finally, panelists examine how St. Luke’s has cemented their role as a leader in the use of AI to affect treatment options for patients positively. The experts include:

  • Charles Sonday, DNP

    • Network Medical Director of Provider Informatics

  • Chad Brisendine

    • Vice President, Chief Information Officer

“Artificial Intelligence is allowing technology to do things that human beings can find very difficult to do, for example, looking at multiple data points at the same time,” says Senior VP of Clinical Integration & Chairman of Anesthesia, Aldo Carmona, MD. “Early treatment and effective treatment saves lives. St. Luke’s is at the forefront of this technology, and that’s the difference that the network has in great outcomes.”
