HELLERTOWN, PA -- More than 30 million people in the United States have diabetes. Remarkably, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, one-fourth of those suffering do not even realize they have it. In the seventeenth episode of St. Luke's HealthNow, diabetes, podiatry and wound care experts explore the first signs of the disease, symptoms and treatment options available. Also highlighted is how the three disciplines work together to provide exceptional patient care. St. Luke's HealthNow will air Monday, November 25 at 6:30 PM on WFMZ Channel 69.
Diabetes and Wound Care, taped before a live studio audience, welcomes a team of St. Luke's specialists including Steven Bowers, D.O., a board-certified family physician and network medical director of Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine. Also featured are endocrinologist, Ashish Shah, M.D., and board-certified foot and ankle surgeon and podiatrist, Eric Bronfenbrenner, D.P.M. Hosted by Ashley Russo, president and executive producer of ASR Media Productions, the program is a collaboration with St. Luke's University Health Network.
